This post made on Jan. 24 th 2012. If you are planning on attending the Toronto Spring Fishing and Boat Show, at the Toronto International Centre, and would like to help operate the Top 50 Booth to accumulate AOTY points please inform Eric Spinks at fore_fish@hotmail.com or 705-789-0512 prior to Feb. 4, 2012. Hello Top50 anglers,

For those wishing to earn points towards the Angler of the Year ( AOTY) title as mentioned in #7 of the AOTY criteria and support the Provincial Classic pay back, here is your opportunity.

Anglers at the 2011 Provincial Classic spoke up and wanted a BIGGER and BETTER pay back at the classic. This can be accomplished without costing the anglers any pocket money. We do not believe increasing the entry fee is the answer.

Here is an opportunity for all anglers to pitch in and make this happen. We all know someone in business, we all deal with businesses, work at a business. Most business owners allocate $$ towards advertising. An excellent resource is at our finger tips, selling advertising in the Tournament Angler Magazine.

If each angler sold one (1) $150 advertisement our Provincial Classic pot would grow to more than $15,000.00.

We realize that selling advertising is not for everyone and understand……..but PLEASE give it a try, you may just surprize yourself.

FYI

There is a tab on the main page of our website that contains the advertising rate card. Download and print copies, if you have a copy of 2010 or 2011 magazine bring that with you as a sample of what we produce to potential advertisers.

Magazines are printed one time annually, 5000 copies printed and distributed by our host clubs, anglers and the TOP50. Magazines will be available no later than April 15 th 2012.

A FEW RULES TO REMEMBER.

Ads listed in the magazine are not eligible; they belong to the host clubs. Ads cannot be sold until after February 15 th 2012

ATTENTION PROVINCIAL CLASSIC QUALIFIERS Jan 15 2012

The Provincial Classic will be held five days after the last tournament in Elk Lk .

This does not give the Top50 directors and host club much time to contact and invite qualifying anglers. To avoid any problems receiving late entries and filling the field the following procedure will take place.

All anglers that know they have qualified by virtue of points in the angler of the year( AOTY) race , and will be attending the Provincial Classic are urged to do the following.

“ Pay the full NON-REFUNDABLE Classic ($22 0.00) entry before August 15th 2012 . Doing so will enter you into a draw for starting boa t numbers and for the free paid entry to the 2012 Provincial. The draw for starting position boat #' and free entry will take place in Elk Lake Sept.2 nd 2012.”

Entries for the Provincial Classic will be accepted until we have a full field, but all entries received post marked after August 15th will no t be in the draw and will be given the remaining starting boat numbers as their entry is received. Get your entries in early and avoid missing the draw!

Oct. 4, 2011

The Top 50 message board was closed as of 25/09/11 and will not re-open anytime in the near future.

The intent of the message board is to relay important information to other anglers, promote our series and share experiences. Unfortunately that is not what happened.

M any people view our board daily and find much controversy, inappropriate language and avatars.

The TOP50 prides itself in being a professionally run organization. In doing so it will open doors for corporate sponsorships and advertising. It will also allow the possibility of receiving funds or grants in the future.

We have some corporate sponsorships in place and do not wish to lose their support.

We personally apologize to those we may have offended, and forgive those that have offended us.

This decision has been made in order for our series to grow in a respectful manner, and to be viewed with professionalism.
